This song is about falling in love with someone you said you would just friends with. Also, it’s about contemplating if a couple months of knowing that person is too early to be in love with them/wanting to say I love you. The words I love you can be interpreted in many different ways depending on who it's directed at, but in the song it's about wanting to say those three little words to express deeper feelings for someone. There is a difference when looking at a friend verses looking at someone as more than a friend and when you start to look at them a little different, care or worry about them a little more, think about them a little deeper is when you know that you don’t just see them as a friend anymore.
